Originally a fishing village it still retains much of this charm with a long harbour front stretching almost the length of the town which is lined with traditional boats. Dalyan is located just 25 km's from the International Dalaman Airport thus making for pleasant transfer times, further it is conveniently located for visiting other holiday centres such as Marmaris or Fethiye which are both around 1 hours drive from Dalyan. There are many things to do and see in Dalyan:- River Tombs, Sulphur Mud Bath, Turkish Bath, Scuba Diving, Horse Riding, Rafting, Microlight Planes, Cycling, Gökbel Radar Station (a great place to watch the sunset over Dalyan), the Caunos ruins and every Saturday a market. Along with the 'Sulphur Mud Baths' Dalyan is also famous for the Giant Loggerhead Turtle. Early morning Turtle watching trips can be arranged. Around Dalyan you can see traditional Turkish houses, Cotton fields, Orange groves and numerous other fruits growing in abundance. Bird watching is also popular.
